Why This Project Matters

Sushi Fest began in 2019 with a simple mission — to bring high-quality sushi and poke bowls to private events. From small beginnings, the business grew into a local favorite with a takeaway shop and a diverse customer base of both Danish and international families. But to compete in a crowded food market and prepare for future expansion, Sushi Fest needed to strengthen its digital presence, streamline online ordering, and build marketing capacity. Without this, growth and franchise ambitions risked being slowed down.

Our Approach

With support from Aalborg Institute for Development under the SMV:Digital program, Sushi Fest focused on three core areas:

  • Website Development – building a modern, user-friendly site with integrated online ordering, product details, and a section highlighting company values and sustainability.

  • Digital Marketing Strategy – investing in social media, SEO, and online ads to reach food lovers seeking authentic dining experiences across Denmark.

  • Sales & Automation Tools – implementing marketing automation and campaign tools to convert website visitors into paying customers, reduce errors in order handling, and improve delivery times.

Results

A visually appealing website with a seamless online ordering system.
Increased visibility through social media campaigns, SEO, and targeted ads.
Stronger brand awareness and an expanded customer base beyond the local area.
Advanced targeting and campaign automation tools to increase efficiency and engagement.
Improved internal processes with integrated systems and better use of customer data.

Aalborg Institute for Development’s Role

As the SMV:Digital supplier, AID provided strategic advisory services, workshops, and training on web development, data analysis, and digital marketing. Our guidance ensured Sushi Fest’s team could manage their new systems effectively and continue optimizing their digital presence long after the project ended.

Looking Ahead

With its new website, stronger digital marketing capacity, and modern ordering system, Sushi Fest is well-positioned to grow its customer base and expand into new cities through franchising. The project was more than a technical upgrade — it laid the foundation for future growth and established Sushi Fest as a quality-driven brand in Denmark’s competitive food market.
