Why This Project Matters

Copenhagen Energy Partners, operating under the NIVI brand, provides engineering consultancy and climate reporting to major clients such as Ørsted, Maersk, and Noble Drilling. Since launching in 2023, the company has grown rapidly and built a strong reputation in sustainability.

But as the NIVI platform expanded, so did the responsibility to safeguard sensitive client data. With growing risks of cyberattacks and increasing demands for compliance, the company needed a stronger cybersecurity framework to protect users, build trust, and enable further growth in international markets.

Our Approach

With support from Aalborg Institute for Development through SMV:Digital, Copenhagen Energy Partners implemented a multi-layered cybersecurity strategy for the NIVI platform:

  • Encryption & MFA – integrating advanced encryption protocols and multifactor authentication to secure user accounts and sensitive data.

  • Threat Monitoring – establishing real-time monitoring systems to detect and respond to potential cyber threats quickly.

  • Security Framework – developing a tailored cybersecurity structure with regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk management procedures.

  • Training & Awareness – running workshops on data protection, ethical hacking, and threat handling to strengthen employee capacity.

  • User-Focused Security – implementing features that balance strong security with ease of use, ensuring trust without sacrificing accessibility.

  • Communication Strategy – launching security awareness campaigns and targeted content to educate users and strengthen confidence in the platform.
